We specialise in

Social Care

Employees who work in the social care and education sector are genuinely passionate about what they do and understand that this isn’t just a job, it is about changing people’s lives. Our role at Rivers recruitment is to unpick where your passion lies and to support you to find your dream role.

There are several avenues you can go down in Social care and you could be supporting individuals with the following needs:

Emotional Behavioural Difficulties

+

Children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental health) may have severe difficulties in managing their emotions and behaviours. They may have come from backgrounds that involved: past trauma, chaotic upbringings, substance misuse, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, sexual abuse, and gang affiliation.

Learning Disabilities

+

A learning disability impacts the way individuals develop in all core areas and ultimately how they live their lives and access healthcare. Each learning disability can uniquely impact an individual and could impact them physically, socially, mentally, or cognitively. Everyone that you support will have a personalised care plan, tailored directly to them to ensure that you can support them to achieve positive outcomes.

Mental Health

+

Anybody can experience struggles with their mental health. Common mental health diagnoses include anxiety, depression, bipolar, eating disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress, and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. Assessments of mental health will be made on an individual's psychological and emotional well-being.

Autism

+

Autism is a type of learning disability and is a developmental disorder of variable severity that is often characterised by difficulty in social interaction and communication. This can also be characterised by repetitive patterns of thoughts and behaviour.

Homelessness

+

Homelessness is lacking stable or appropriate housing and you can be categorised as homeless if you are: moving between shelters or the houses of family or friends, living on the streets or living in emergency accommodation.

Substance misuse

+

Substance misuse includes the use of illegal drugs and excessive use of legal substances such as alcohol and tobacco. Substance misuse is extremely harmful to health and long-term can cause extreme health issues.

Dementia/Frail Elderly

+

Frail elderly refers to individuals over the age of 65 that are dependent on others for activities or daily living and can be linked to dementia which is the loss of cognitive thinking, remembering and reasoning.
